How selling your law library works
-
[1]
Tell us what you have
Send photos of the shelves, or a list of the sets and years, with the town or postcode where the books are. Use the form, WhatsApp or a phone call, whichever is easiest for you.
-
[2]
We value it for free
We look at what you have and come back to you with a valuation. Sets with a resale value we buy. Where a collection has little resale value, we can talk about collecting it free of charge instead.
-
[3]
We pack it, collect it and pay you
We arrange the collection at a time that suits you, pack the books straight from the shelves and pay the transport. The payment goes into your bank account.
Who sells their law books to us
Pick the situation closest to yours for what to send us and what happens next.
Where your books go next
The books we buy go back into use. We sell them on through our own shop, Law Book Sellers, and pass others to new law firms, libraries, students, colleges and charities, including in developing countries.
Books in really poor condition are recycled with care.
Questions about selling law books
What law books do you buy?
Collections and sets: law reports, Halsbury's Laws and Halsbury's Statutes, encyclopaedias of forms and precedents, practitioner texts, journals and rare law books. The full list is on our What we buy page.
Do you buy single textbooks?
No. We buy collections, sets and rare law books rather than one-off textbooks.
Does collection cost anything?
No. We pay the courier or transport costs, and we pack the books ourselves, straight from the shelves.
Where do you collect from?
Anywhere in the UK, and we can arrange collection from abroad too.
How do I get a valuation?
Send photos of the spines or a list of the sets, with the years or editions and the town or postcode where the books are. The valuation form takes photos, or you can WhatsApp them to 07920 748314.
How am I paid?
Straight into your bank account.
What if my books are not worth much?
Tell us anyway. Where a collection has little resale value, we can talk about collecting it free of charge so the shelves are still cleared.
